An Invitation

Floral decoration Mars Hill Lynmouth An invitation from David & Marianna, to join them in their elegant, lovingly restored, period, Victorian guest house, pleasantly situated near the Cairn Nature Reserve and lovely Bicclesombe Park. We are also very handy for the town with its varied restaurants, inns, cafes and famous harbour.

The minute you enter, Coastal Fringes Guest House, after parking your car in our private car park, right outside our front door, you are made to feel at home. We combine modern comforts with hospitality of a bygone age. Nothing is too much trouble.

The House and Garden

Floral decoration Coastal Fringes Guest House is different and special. There are original architectural features from the Victorian period and all the furnishings and fittings have been carefully chosen to show the house to it's best advantage. There are also attractive pictures, plates and antiques to catch the eye including film memorabilia. Plants are one of David's hobbies and guests enjoy discussing the garden and there are a number of interesting houses and gardens to visit in the area.

The Breakfast

Each day, wake up to a tasty, homemade, locally sourced breakfast. A full spread designed to see you through the busy and exciting day ahead. As can be seen below we offer plenty of tempting choices.

Breakfast at Coastal Fringes Guest House consists of:
Orange, apple or cranberry juice

Choice of fruit yoghurts, prunes, grapefruit segments or plain yoghurt (honey available)

Cereals - there are approximately 20 varieties to choose from

Salmon with scrambled eggs
English breakfast
Croissants with fruit
Cumberland sausage breakfast
Kippers with lemon wedge
Heinz Beans on toast
Scrambled or poached eggs on toast
Bacon and fresh mushrooms on toast

White, wholemeal or mixed toast with 'Tiptree' marmalade, jams and honey
Tea, coffee, redbush tea, earl grey tea, fruit or chocolate
Regular guests have welcomed the decision not to have a bar or a drinks licence

Vegetarians, Vegans and Those on special diets catered for. (prior notice would be appreciated)

Eating Out

David and Marianna are also happy to suggest some of the many and varied places to eat out. We are also happy to forward you a copy of 'Eating Out In Ilfracombe'. Ilfracombe town centre, with it's good local pubs, cafe's. tea rooms and a wide range of restaurants is but a short, five minute walk away, leaving your car in our own car park. We can also book you a taxi if required.

The Rooms

There are three delightful, individually designed en-suite bedrooms. They are each appointed with quality furnishings and pictures. The facilities are chosen with your comfort in mind. Each has its own sitting area with central heating, TV, DVD, clock radio, hairdryer, trouser press, beverage making facilities and other thoughtful little extras such as our home made biscuits in your room. Access to your room is unrestricted, you can come and go as you please during the day.

The Joan Fontaine Suite
This is a lovely light and spacious dual-aspect room. It is presented in a contemporary style. With a beautifully carved antique French bed. There is a good sized sitting area with comfy armchairs and a large bathroom with a bath and a large walk-in shower. This room is themed with mementos of actress Joan Fontaine. This room also has a 32" television with freeview.

The Ann Harding Room
A delightful, restful room, painted in relaxing colours. With antique Art Nouveau furniture and a beautifully carved antique French bed. This room is themed on 1930's film star Ann Harding. An en-suite shower is included with toilet and basin. All our en-suite bathrooms have opening windows. This room also has a 32" television with DVD Player.

The Gene Tierney Room Gene Teirney
A lovely, light, dual-aspect room, it has a toilet, shower and washbasin en-suite. Relax and enjoy the views towards the Cairn and the Round House. This room is themed on the beautiful Hollywood film star Gene Tierney and is presented in a contemporary modern style. This room also has a 32" television with DVD Player.
